Grant payments will be made from 4 April 2023 to 6 April 2023. The second of every month is when grants are paid, but since 2 April 2023 falls on a weekend, April 2023 grant payments will begin on Tuesday, 4 April 2023.

Sassa Payment Dates for March 2023

Types of SASSA grants and amounts
Types of Sassa grants, 8 type of Sassa grants and amounts. Here is the types of grants and explain it.
1. SRD Grant:
SRD (Social Relief Distress Grant) is available to South Africans, asylum seekers, refugees, and holders of special permits between the ages of 18 and 60. To be eligible for this grant, individuals must not have the necessary means, not receive any social grants, not contribute to or be eligible for UIF payments, and not receive any other financial support. The amount for this grant is R350 per month.
2. Child Support Grant:
If you face financial hardship, you can apply for a grant to help you raise your child. If you are the primary caregiver, you must be a parent, grandparent, or child over the age of 16 leading the family. You must also pass the means test. You will receive R500 per child per month. You will receive R750 per month for each orphaned child you care for (the R500 CSG and the R250 top-up).
3. Foster Child Support:
You will also be eligible to receive a grant if you foster a child. Foster children are orphaned, abandoned, abused, neglected, or at risk children who have been placed in your care by the court. Foster child support is R1 120 per month per child.
4. Care Dependency Grant:
A grant for individuals who look after children with severe disabilities that may require full-time and specialised care is available through this program. The child grant covers them from birth until they reach the legal age of 18. Each child is entitled to receive R2 080 per month for the duration of their grant.
5. Disability Grant:
It is available to individuals with a physical or mental disability who have been unable to work for more than six months. Individuals are offered a temporary disability grant if their illness continues for more than a year, and a permanent grant if it continues for more than six months. The permanent disability grant does not mean that you will receive it for the rest of your life. It simply means that you will receive it for a longer period of time than 12 months. There is a maximum payout of R2 080 per month for a disability grant.
6. Pensioners Grant (Older Person’s Grant):
The grant is given to individuals who are older (60 years or older) and no longer able to work and earn a living. The amount of R2 080 per month will be paid to people between the ages of 60 and 75 years old, while the amount will be paid to people over 75 years old.
7. Grant-In-Aid:
The aid is given to people on a social grant who are unable to take care of themselves. This additional grant will pay the person who takes full-time care of them, equivalent to R500 per month.
8. War Veterans Grant:
This grant is available to veterans of the Second World War (1939 to 1945) or the Korean War (1950 to 1953) who are unable to financially support themselves.
